Ted Clydesdale at Croxteth
Ted the Clydesdale is a special guest for our Victorian Christmas schools programme.
He is a magnificent Clydesdale - a rare breed heavy horse adding reality to the work of the 'stablehands', who look after him in the historic stables at Croxteth during Victorian Christmas.
Ted has returned to the North West after a national tour promoting the Rare Breeds Survival Trust. The Trust is a charity promoting the conservation of rare breeds of farm livestock - such as Clydesdale horses.
Ted is owned by Sally Anne Oultram, who saved his life when he was a foal. Sally went on to write a children's book about Ted, which has also been made into a Video and DVD. Ted has his own website too!
Croxteth Home Farm is a an approved Rare Breeds visitor centre, with several rare breed animals on show to the public.
