Fresh fruit and vegetables

As part of the 'Liverpool Food and Drink Festival 2006', the Old Riding School Cafe in Croxteth Country Park picked up the 'Coffee Shop/Cafe award (sponsored by Liverpool Serviced Appartments).

At a presitgious Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony at the Marriott Hotel Speke, Helen Eaton, Myerscough College Liverpool Centre Manager collected the unexpected award. She was thrilled with the award, saying "everyone involved with the Cafe can be proud of their achievement"

The 'Old Riding School' Café is set in the heart of Croxteth Country Park, providing delicious homemade food including hearty soups, traditional quiches and lots more for thousands of visitors to the Park. It is renowned for its home baked scones with fruit jams and fresh cream.

The Cafe also provides a great meeting place for students and staff from the Myerscough College, Liverpool centre based in the park.

The theme for the Awards was recognising people who have achieved and worked hard to improve food quality and service.
