What the Woodman Saw
On Saturday 20 March at 1.00pm join a member of the Ranger Information Services (RIS) team and explore some of the woodlands surrounding the Hall. Find out about why they were planted, how the team of woodsmen looked after them, and learn about traditional woodland management techniques.
As well as enhancing the local countryside, timber from woodlands such as those at Croxteth have been used for many purposes, from house and ship building to clothes-peg making and charcoal. Find out about some traditional uses of timber from trees in our woodlands.
As part of 'Earth Day', find out more about how woodlands can help offset carbon footprints and reduce the effect of climate change.
Meet outside the Gift Shop at Croxteth Hall at 1.00pm on Saturday 20 April. Places are available 'on the day'. The charge for this fascinating walk is £2.00 per person.
