Pramathon success

Parents enjoying a healthy walk in the park Families in Liverpool are being encouraged to get out and about in the city's parks.

Tracey Sanderson, Health Promotion Officer for Vauxhall Children's Centre and co-organiser of the hugely successful pramathon in Croxteth Country Park said:

"We organise regular walks around the city's parks. It is really important to get new parents active with their children - for the adults and the kids. If you grow up with exercise, you will carry it on into adult life and in turn keep healthy."

Over 200 parents with their children enjoyed getting active in the park, with an organised walk around some of the miles of well surfaced pathways. More information about the day is reported in the Liverpool Echo newspaper.

There are a whole range of guided walks organised in this (and other Liverpool Parks) ranging in length and duration, featuring the history and wildlife to be found in the parks. They are all detailed in the Liverpool Ranger Service Events brochure. We also run a variety of 'Healthy Walks' organised by Liverpool PCT, or the park is open for you to come by yourself or with some friends to walk, picnic or just enjoy being outside in the 'countryside'
