Heritage Open Day

Top of main staircase at Croxteth Hall

Don't miss this opportunity to visit Croxteth Hall for free!

On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September, we are offering free admission to the display rooms of Croxteth Hall. Why not come and see what life was like 'Upstairs' for the Earl of Sefton and his guests, then contrast that with life 'Downstairs' for the servants who worked here to ensure the smooth running of the Hall and estate in late Victorian and early Edwardian times.

Our costumed Heritage Guides will be on hand with snippets of fascinating information about the Sefton family and servants who lived and worked here in Edwardian times at Croxteth. So many people were 'in service' in those days that we get frequent visitors with family links to people who worked here. We are always interested to hear of any family links to Croxteth.

Visit our Events pages to find out more about what's on at Croxteth Hall.

Free opening of Croxteth Hall is part of the nationwide Heritage Open Days Scheme. English Heritage have organised free openings of heritage buildings and sites throughout the country to make this the largest voluntary cultural event in England!
