Lord Sefton's Teddy Bear Hunt

Teddy bears picnic on the lawns at Croxteth Hall

Saturday 18 July saw the start of the annual Lord Sefton's Teddy Bear Hunt inside Croxteth Hall which ran through the school summer holidays. 1,253 children enjoyed searching for the teddies as they visited Lord Sefton's house. Well done to everyone who counted the correct number of bears - 33 teddies were hiding around the Hall this year!

From the record number of entries, two lucky winners have been drawn - a young boy aged 6 and a 12 year old girl. They have each won a voucher giving them a session in the 'Build-a-Bear' workshop in Liverpool where they can design and make their very own teddy bear to take home with them. Well done you two! The prize has been kindly donated by Vauxhall Children's Centre.

This year, in Liverpool's 'Year of the Environment', many of the Teddy Bears hiding among the rooms in the Hall were kindly 'recycled' from families of Liverpool's Vauxhall Children's Centre, so many thanks to them for providing us with the teddys.

Lord Sefton's Teddy Bear hunt was recently featured on ITV's Granada Reports.
