Filming at Croxteth
Croxteth continues to be a popular choice for filming. Both TV and film producers and location managers find the Hall an adaptable space for many types of drama filming. Currently the BBC TV historic costume drama Casualty 1909 is using areas in the Hall to represent places in the next series.
The Breakfast room, normally complete with dining table, chairs and sideboards laid out ready for an Earls dinner, has been transformed to represent a surgeon's consulting rooms for the new series to be screened later in 2009. Further filming in the cobbled Hall courtyard and extensive kitchen areas is being shot for the programme.
Croxteth has the benefit of space to house the unit base for the film location unit while the different building periods of the Hall provide the perfect backdrop for Victorian and Edwardian period dramas.
