Police in the Park

Mounted police officer outside Croxteth Hall

Neighbourhood Officers in Croxteth, Norris Green and Clubmoor have joined forces with City Watch Wardens and Security at Croxteth Country Park, to crackdown on crime & anti social behaviour in the Park during the school half term period.

During the week long break, from Saturday 26th May to Monday 4th June, uniform and plain clothes officers, officers on mountain bikes and quad bikes, mounted officers, dog handlers and Police Community Support Officers will be patrolling the park to discourage those intent on behaving in an anti social way or becoming involved in crime.

To ensure that the local community and visitors to the area can enjoy the facilities the park has to offer the mobile police station will also be sited within the grounds to provide a 24hr police presence throughout the duration of the operation. The mobile station will also provide the public with a means of reporting all incidents of anti social behaviour and crime direct to the police, reducing the time it takes to respond to incidents and helping to prosecute those responsible.

Neighbourhood Inspector Steve Harding, said

Croxteth Hall & Country Park is a beautiful venue - Liverpool's largest park, right in the heart of the city. It is a fantastic facility for the local community and for visitors to the area.

Our officers will be patrolling the Croxteth Country Park during this week long period, meeting the public and it's an opportunity for local parents and children to come along and meet their local officers.

Our aim is to ensure that members of the public using the park feel safe enough to enjoy all the facilities it has to offer, particularly with the warm summer months coming up. I would urge members of the public to be vigilant whilst using the park and to report any anti social behaviour, or anyone acting suspiciously to either the police, city watch wardens or park security. I would also invite all members of the public to attend at the mobile police station in order to discuss any concerns that they may have or merely to talk to their local officers.

Alternatively the public can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to report any criminal matters.
