Hall Farm and Garden opening

Croxteth Hall Queen Anne wing

Croxteth Hall staff and volunteers have been busy making sure everything is ready for you to be welcomed into the ancestral home of the Molyneux family, the Earls of Sefton.

Society figures and royalty frequently came to stay at Croxteth Hall for country house parties, particularly in the Edwardian era.

Today the rooms are open, depicting life 'above' and 'below' stairs. Character figures and displays introduce the Molyneux family and their servants to you.

A young Shetland lamb on Croxteth Home FarmThe Home Farm is a must for the youngsters - children and adults will enjoy the sights and sounds of country life!

Get close to the animals, cows, sheep and pigs, on a real working farm. See a traditional Victorian farmyard, home to an important collection of rare breed farm animals from the past. Learn about modern farming and watch our livestock grazing in the country park or the tractors working in the fields.

For younger visitors there is a small play area in the Farm.

Why not relax in the peace and tranquillity of the walled garden. Concealed by the high flue walls, this hidden treasure is almost untouched by time.

A quiet stroll around the garden reveals the ingenuity of bygone gardeners - ornate fruit trees, mushroom house and exotic fruit in greenhouses. Colourful scented borders lead to well-stocked vegetable plots, once tended by the gardeners to provide produce for the 'big house'.

Full opening details including prices.
