10.30am - 5.00pm
Supported by Working Links and National Museums, Liverpool
Great fun for kids! See if you can hunt down all the pictures or models of wildlife animals that have lived in Croxteth Country Park (you may have to search very carefully as you go round the rooms Lord and Lady Sefton and their servants used to live and work in). Name all 12 animals on the worksheet provided from the Gift Shop when you come into the Hall and enter our prize draw to win a family ticket to visit Chester Zoo! Normal Hall admission prices apply.
Daily until Sunday July 19
TravelWise Cycle Challenge
People across Merseyside are being invited to take part in the first TravelWise Cycle Challenge, which is being launched during National Bike Week on 13 June and runs throughout the summer. As part of the TravelWise Cycle Challenge, people in Merseyside are being urged to join with family, friends and colleagues to get out on their bikes and enjoy more cycling. All participants who register with TravelWise will receive a personalised TravelWise Cycle Challenge pack containing freebies and advice on how to get cycling more this summer. There is loads of information about bike safety, where to ride (including cycle maps) and how to register for your cycling freebies on the TravelWise web site.
Croxteth Park is a great place to start - every Tuesday Liverpool Primary Care Trust run cycle rides around the flat roads and tracks in the park starting from near the Hall - booking essential (see regular events). We also offer free car parking (off Muirhead Avenue) so why not bring your bikes in the car, park up and enjoy a leisurely cycle around the Country Park with family or friends.
Sat 18 July
Compost Give-away
10.00am - 2.00pm
Bring a bag and a shovel along to our main car park (from the gates off Muirhead Avenue) and help yourself to a bagful of good rich compost. Now is an ideal time to improve garden soil - so digging in compost made from the kerbside collections is a great way to help those vegetables and flowers grow.
Saturday 18 July to Sunday 6 August 2009
Lord Sefton's Teddy Bear Hunt
10.30am - 5.00pm in Hall
Younger children and parents will love this numeric fun. Count the Teddies you find in each room, add up the total number and enter our prize draw. Why not bring your own Teddy Bear and enjoy your own Teddy Bears' picnic in the grounds.
Normal Hall admission prices apply.
Saturday 18 July to Sunday 31 August
