Events at Croxteth Hall and Country Park
As in recent years, we continue to bring all our main events in all the city parks free of charge encouraging greater use of parks and accessibility for all. Our events will offer something for everyone. Information about events in all the city's parks can be downloaded. All the events here at Croxteth are listed in our Events at Croxteth 2010
booklet; keep calling back to these pages for up to date event information and details to download.
2010 has been designated as Liverpool's Year of Health and Wellbeing. Many of our regular and special events have been designed to tie in with this theme; enjoy getting fit active in mind and body by taking part in healthy outdoor activities; walks, cycle rides and fun runs are organised througout the year. Most of our events have an educational aspect - whether its finding out more about the history of the Hall and family who lived here, enjoying fun quizzes and activities in the different facitlities, or joining the rangers to find out about the wilfdlife that abounds in the park.
The Friends of Croxteth Hall and Country Park have provided funds for us to secure a brilliant new exhibition 'Eccentric Gadgets and Inventions', to be displayed through the sumptuous display rooms in the Hall between April 1 and May 23. About 150 weird, whacky and downright unusual gadgets and inventions from the Victorian and Edwardian era will be displayed in rooms around the Hall. Many modern day time and effort saving inventions such as the bedside 'teasmade' or the domestic vacuum cleaner can be traced back to some of these wonderful engineering masterpieces. Others like the 'Moustache spoon' or 'alarmed door knob' didn't really catch on!
Building on the success of last year, we have a series of special storytelling sessions. All the stories are suitable for children ages between 4 and 11 years old, and are based on traditional tales from various cultures. They are great for children to enjoy, but also have important environmental messages to tell based around the cause and effects of climate change and the importance of conserving Earth's natural resources.
Fiona Angwin, the storyteller, has worked as an actress and storyteller for over 20 years, mainly in primary schools across the country. She has also performed in a range of locations including forests, castles, and even zoos. She has devised and led workshops on topics as diverse as 'Bullying' and 'Bats & Biodiversity'.
As an added extra, Mr Wheeler will be giving horse drawn bus rides around the Hall throughout the school holidays.
Browse the events pages from the monthly menu down the left of the page to find detailed information about all our events at Croxteth. Keep coming back to check as pages will be updated with new information as and when details become finalised.

Guided walks and tours
Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for outdoor visits. Many walks are on woodland paths.
An adult MUST accompany children. Very bad weather may cause cancellation of outdoor walks or events. Any cancellations will be advertised as widely as possible in local media and on our website. Alternatively telephone Liverpool Direct on 0151 233 3007 for up to date information.
Accessibility
Parking for vehicles displaying a current Disabled Parking badge is close to the Hall. Follow the Conference and Disabled parking signs from Croxteth Hall Lane. The display rooms in the Hall are wheelchair accessible, with a lift available on request. Please ask if required at the Gift Shop. Most of the paths on the outdoor guided walks are either tarmac park roads or reasonably surfaced woodland tracks offering 'good' to 'bumpy' going for wheelchairs. There are no steep inclines. The Home Farm yard is cobbled, again offering 'bumpy' going for wheelchair users.
We reserve the right to amend prices, terms and conditions.
