Teddy in a basketEvery day throughout August 2009
Lord Sefton's Teddy Bear Hunt
10.30am - 5.00pm in Hall
Younger children and parents will love this numeric fun. Count the Teddies you find in each room, add up the total number and enter our prize draw. Why not bring your own Teddy Bear and enjoy your own Teddy Bears' picnic in the grounds.
Normal Hall admission prices apply.

Liverpool Year of the Environment logo

As part of Liverpool's Year of the Environment we are holding a storytelling season - where all the stories have environmental themes. These stories are all suitable for children aged between 4 and 11 years old.

Designed to encourage children to discover the magic of stories, words, books and the environment in which they live, each story session will last between 45 minutes to 1 hour. Numbers are limited so please book quickly! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

'Manx Stories' -  the Isle of Man has its own rich tradition of folklore - influenced by the Celts & Vikings.

'Native American Tales' - tales of Native American wisdom relating to the earth and our place in it.

There are lots of other events linked with Liverpool's Year of the Environment throughout the region.

Wheelers Horse Drawn Bus and Donkey Rides
Something extra for the children to enjoy during the school holidays, Mr Wheeler will be giving you the opportunity to ride around the Hall in a one horsepower bus! Look out for the donkeys near the children's play areas too. These attractions are weather dependant and there is a small charge payable.

Croxteth Hall Garden Society Annual Show
Sun 1.00pm - 5.00pm
Mon 10.00am - 5.00pm
The best of local flowers, fruit and vegetables will be on display inside some of the historic rooms of Croxteth Hall. There are also classes for crafts, cookery and art too. Croxteth Hall Garden Society organise this annual traditional show in conjunction with Myerscough College. Classes include cut flowers, fruit, vegetables, pot plants, floral art, preserves and confectionery, with a junior section incluuding art (oil and watercolour etc), crafts, photography and poetry. There is a wide range of prizes to the best exhibitors. Entry into any of the classes is open to all - not just Garden Society members. Entry forms and all the show rules, prizes and details of how to get in touch with the show secretary can be found on the Croxteth Hall Garden Society's own website.

You don't have to exhibit to come and enjoy this traditional annual show. The nominal entrance charge also gives you access to the museum rooms in Croxteth Hall, seat of the Molyneux family, Earls of Sefton. 

JUST ANNOUNCED
Part of the famous RAF Red Arrows Display TeamCome and see a 'flypast' by the RAF Red Arrows Display Team, on Mon 31 Aug at the Croxteth Hall Garden Society Annual Show!
The world famous aerobatic team are scheduled to fly over Croxteth Hall at 3.06pm weather permitting - what a fantastic opportunity for you to enjoy a great traditional show and see the iconic planes overhead!

Don't forget all our regular events throughout the month: 

  • Sundays 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 and Wednesdays 5, 12, 19 and 26 August, 2.00pm - 4.00pm our costumed Heritage volunteers bring the Hall display rooms to life.
  • Wednesdays 5, 12, 19 and 26 August, 1.30pm Walk for Health - enjoy a healthy walk through the park
  • Thursdays 6, 13, 20 and 27 August, 6.00pm Walk for Health - enjoy an evening healthy walk around the park
  • Sundays 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 August - West Derby Courthouse is  open (time by arrangement)
  • Tuesdays 4, 11, 18 and 25 August - 10.00am Cycle for Health - booking essential.         

New for this year - FREE 3 month gym passes now available in conjuction with our Walk for Health walks.
To obtain your free gym pass ask your Walk Leader for a 'Passport to the Gym' card. Simply collect a stamp after each walk from your Walk Leader and when you've collected 5 stamps you're eligible for a 3 month pass at a Lifestyles Gym.
