What's at Croxteth for schools?

Children enjoy the play area at Croxteth Country ParkCroxteth Hall and Country Park is one of Liverpool's most important heritage sites, one of "the finest working country estates in the North West" and - with our events and education programme - helped make Liverpool a winner of the European Capital of Culture 2008. This year, 2010, has been designated Year of Health and Wellbeing; all our visits contribute to engaging and stimulating pupil's minds and bodies.

The park is at the heart of what was once a great country estate stretching hundreds of square miles and was the ancestral home of the Molyneux family, the Earls of Sefton.

The estate has four main attractions - The Historic Hall, Croxteth Home Farm, the Victorian Walled Garden (complete with Liverpool's historic Botanical Collection) and a 500 acre country park including the new Croxteth Local Nature Reserve and tree-top adventure area 'Jungle Parc'.

An award winning education programme has been developed, taking advantage of all our facilities. Schools can opt to book a guided visit, led by our Ranger Interpretation Service staff - or they can book to visit any or all of our facilities on a self guided basis. We provide various resources to help schools get the best out of their visit.

We are really 'geared up' for hosting school trips - from ample free parking for your coach through toilet facilities, wet weather lunch rooms, to free (bookable) play boxes full of activities suitable for a whole class to enjoy games on the lawns in their lunch break.
