Picnic Areas
Why not bring a picnic for the lawns in the Walled Garden? Alternatively we have picnic benches near the children's Play area, and also under trees at the far end of Statue and Long ponds. The lawns around the Hall are all openly accessible for schools to use; there is always plenty of space.
Adventure Playgrounds
A chance to burn off some surplus energy! There is a popular free adventure playground for children under 13 years of age (including a separate area for nursery/early years children) near the farm entrance with picnic tables nearby. New for 2012 we plan to install an integral wheelchair swing. For very young children there is a small play area in the farm.
The Old Riding School Café
The café provides meals and refreshments with seating indoors and in the outdoor courtyard. Please note that larger parties should book in advance. School parties are advised that picnics must not be eaten in the café but can be taken to one of the various picnic sites in the Park.
Opening hours main season (April - October) 8.30am - 4.30pm (weekdays). Outside the main season please contact us for opening hours. Contact the Café on 0151 220 9805.
Gift Shops
We have gift and souvenir shops in the Hall, Farm and Walled Garden. Pupils are welcome to spend their pocket money but please limit the numbers in the shops to avoid overcrowding. See also our Helpful Hints on spending.
Jungle Parc
Jungle Parc is a fantastic playground up in the trees - swing, climb and glide through the tree tops, enjoying active, adventurous play. Call for more details or visit www.jungleparc.co.uk. School parties are welcome.
Horse riding
Make even more of your day out in the Park at Croxteth Park Riding Centre, which provides lessons for all abilities. For more information check out the Croxteth Park Riding Centre website or telephone the Riding Centre on 0151 220 9177.
Toilets
Our toilets, including disabled and baby change facilities and a full adult 'changing places' room are located next to the Old Riding School Café (follow finger post directin signs to the Café). More toilets are available in the farm. Additional hand-washing sinks are in the shop on the farm.
How to find us and parking
Schools should use the public car park (entrance from Muirhead Avenue), where there is ample free coach parking, with a short walk to the Hall (use post code L11 1EH for Sat Navs).
On occasions you may be directed to park near to the Hall. At such times, use the entrance off Croxteth Hall Lane and follow signs to the Hall. Disabled badge holders may use the disabled parking facilities (entrance from Croxteth Hall Lane).
