Foundation and Early Years

Children with watering canMore and more Foundation Stage and Early Years groups are coming to Croxteth. 

The experience of a 'trip out' to an exciting place is in itself valuable; visit the Hall - a huge house to explore, or the Home Farm - especially with animals to be seen at close quarters. Why not experience the colours, shapes, scents and textures in the Walled Garden and of course the Country Park offers a vast range of experiences, from open space to let off steam to experiencing all the fascinating changes through the seasons.

Our tailor made Storytelling sessions, or simply having fun playing in the park or on the playground, make Croxteth a great place for the youngsters. 

Guided Visits.
The Ranger Interpretation Team (RIS), our Heritage Volunteers or Farm Rangers can be booked (depending on availability) to lead your visit and help your class get the best learning experience from their trip out to Croxteth. Please follow the links below to view the range of topics on offer (all designed for Foundation / Early Years).

Guided visits in the Hall include; Storytelling with our costumed storyteller.

Guided visits in the Farm include; Explore our Farm and Storytelling with our costumed storyteller.

Guided visits in the Walled Garden include; Walled garden through the Seasons and Storytelling with our costumed storyteller (various titles).

Guided visits in the Country Park include; Storytelling with our costumed storyteller (various titles).

'Seasonal Special' visits - Spring Awake!, Harvest Helpers and Santa's Home Farm Grotto.

Self guided visit
Why not make the most of your time at Croxteth. Enjoy a morning or afternoon session led by one of our staff or Heritage Volunteers, then explore another area of the hall, park, farm or garden self led. We have lots of resources to help you and your pupils make the most of your visit.
