Founded in 1803 by William Roscoe, plant hunters visited all four corners of the world, bringing rare and exotic plants back to Liverpool.

The Old Riding School Café
Situated close to the Hall, the café provides hot meals, drinks and refreshments with seating indoors and in the outdoor courtyard. The building itself backs onto the old stableyard, and was where Lord Sefton's Groom would exercise his horses in poor weather.

Bike Park
We have installed new bike parking facilities near the disabled car park at the rear of the Hall, and near the green Cycle for Health 'Bike Pod'. Why not come on your bike, then park it up and explore the miles of woodland paths and tracks on foot. Have a healthy visit to the park!!

Gift Shops
We have gift and souvenir shops in the Hall, Farm and Walled Garden. The main Hall gift shop stocks a wide range of confectionary and preserves, books, gifts and souvenirs to suit most pockets. We have lots of outdoor games and toys for children to play with on the lawns, and lots of 'pocket money' branded souvenirs for children to enjoy.
Tickets for admission to the Hall, Walled Garden and Farm can be purchased here, along with daytime and evening event tickets. The complete range of souvenir leaflets and brochures are also available in the Hall Gift Shop. Most cards are accepted.
There are smaller gift outlets in the Farm and Walled Garden, each with appropriately themed stock.

Adventure Play area at Croxteth Country ParkPlay Areas
All our lawns around the Hall are open for play - great safe expanses for youngsters to run around and let off steam.

We have a large Adventure Play area designed to be great fun for children aged 7 to 13 years, with a separate play area for children aged 6 years and under. Both are near the Hall, towards the Farm entrance. For the really young children we have some tots play equipment inside the Home Farm.

Ever wished no-one was around and you could bring back your childhood by having a go on the children's play equipment? Well we have just installed 7 pieces of equipment designed for older people (aged 12 years to adults) to have some fun - and at the same time help fitness levels too!
Situated just beyond the children's play area, look for the instruction plate on each piece of equipment to find a guide of how to use, how long to use (depending on your existing fitness levels) and also what muscle groups are worked. The equipment installed is: the Body Twister (PDF [225.6Kb] opens in new window), the Agility Bench (PDF [242.2Kb] opens in new window), the Skier (PDF [217.6Kb] opens in new window), the Four Wheel Spinner (PDF [232.3Kb] opens in new window), the Space Walker (PDF [209.8Kb] opens in new window), the Surfer (PDF [213.5Kb] opens in new window) and the Leg Press (PDF [217.3Kb] opens in new window).  When used correctly, each piece of equipment provides a combination of activity types, ranging from cardiovascular exercise, muscle toning, mobility, flexibility and strength exercises.
